What is Operon?

Operon is an open source project that combines a very accurate 4 channel thermocouple input block with an ARM processor. Operon is degined for projects ranging from reflow oven controllers to brewing computers.

Thermocouples

Operon supports all types of thermocouple, and different types can be used at the same time.

Digital probes

Operon includes suport for Dallas 1-wire temperature probes, and any number can be used at once.

Accuracy

With cold-junction sensing in an isothermal section, Operon avoids the heatup issues in single-chip designs.

Inputs/Outputs

With 4 open-drain FET outputs, 3 general purpose IO and 2 buttons, Operon has enough IO for just about any project.

Communication

USB is used to upload and monitor control programs, but Operon also includes support for cheap Nordic nRF24L01+ wireless modules.

Size

Operon packs a lot into its tiny 5cm by 5cm footprint.

How do I get started?
